A UK IPTV subscription is a paid log-in that streams a channel line-up, and on-demand films and series where a plan includes them, to an app on your own device. This guide is for the buyer: what the money gets you, how the two TellyWren plans differ, how the payment works and what to check before you pay anyone. For the full price table, go to the IPTV subscription UK plans page.
What you get for the money
With TellyWren you pay once, in pounds, for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. In return you receive personal log-in details by WhatsApp, set-up guides for common devices, and set-up help from support. You do not get a box, a dish or an installation visit, because the service is an internet stream. You supply the device and the broadband, and you install the app yourself. If you want a plain description of the service itself first, read what a British IPTV service is.
Standard or Premium in one table
| Question | Standard | Premium |
| Price for 1 month | £12.99 | £17.99 |
| Price for 12 months | £49.99 | £64.99 |
| App | The compatible IPTV app you already use | The AromaOtt player app |
| Sign-in | Log-in details from your order confirmation | Username and password |
| Devices named for the app | Set-up guides for Fire TV Stick, Smart TV, Android, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad | Android phones and tablets, Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV Stick |
| Extras | Set-up help over WhatsApp | TV mode, resume where you left off, My List |
| Payment | One-off, nothing renews | One-off, nothing renews |
The longer comparison is on Standard or Premium, and the AromaOtt player page describes the app that Premium uses.
Durations and the one-off payment
Both plans come in four durations. Standard is £12.99, £24.99, £34.99 and £49.99; Premium is £17.99, £34.99, £49.99 and £64.99, for 1, 3, 6 and 12 months in that order. Divide a longer plan by its months and you will see the monthly cost fall, but the longer plan is a bigger sum paid at once, so a single month is the lowest-risk way to try the service on your own broadband. Whatever you choose, the price shown is the price you pay, and nothing is taken again at the end. Pricing in the wider market is discussed in the guide to IPTV prices in the UK.
What to check before paying anyone
These checks apply to any seller, including us.
- Is there a named business with an address, and do the About and Contact pages say who you are dealing with?
- Are prices shown in pounds, with no struck-through "was" prices?
- Does the refund policy say what it covers, and do its conditions match its headline?
- Are support hours stated rather than promised for every hour of the day?
- Are the channels listed by name or category, so you can read them before you order?
- Are there reviews or ratings that cannot be traced to real customers? If so, ignore them.
The guides on buying an IPTV subscription in the UK and choosing a UK IPTV provider go through the same points, and TellyWren states its own answers on the About page.
Renewals
There is no renewal to manage. A plan is a one-off payment that ends on its own, and your log-in details stop working in the app when the period ends. To continue, you place a new order from the plans page, at the price shown there at that time. The Renewal page explains what happens at the end of a plan, and it is worth noting your end date when you start.
Cancellation and refunds
Because nothing renews, there is nothing to cancel in the usual sense of a subscription. Separately, UK consumer law gives you rights when you buy online. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel an online order within 14 days of the day after the contract is made, and starting the service inside that period needs your express consent and your acknowledgement that the right to cancel is lost once supply has begun. Where a service is not as described or not fit for its purpose, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a remedy. The Refund policy is the page that sets out how TellyWren handles this, and it states only what has been confirmed, so read it before you pay. If you are worried about unused time, ask on WhatsApp before you buy.
What to know about the service itself
TellyWren is a reseller: the subscriptions run on servers operated by providers whose service it resells, and it handles your order and your support. Some faults are fixed by those providers rather than by us. A TV Licence is still needed in the UK to watch live television on any service, and TellyWren does not sell one. Apps other than AromaOtt belong to their publishers and are named only as compatible. Quality depends on your broadband too; around 10 Mbps per HD stream is a sensible working minimum, which most UK fibre and cable lines meet.
Ready to compare or start?
If you are still deciding, the FAQ answers the questions people ask before ordering, and how it works shows what happens after you press the order button. If your device is a Fire TV Stick, see IPTV on a Fire TV Stick first to confirm it fits. For a plain description of the service itself, British IPTV explains it, and ordering is the same for both plans: choose a duration, pay once in pounds and wait for your log-in details on WhatsApp.
